Free eBook! The Polar Route’s Complete Guide to Shooting and Editing Photos

image

I’ve been wanting to put an ebook together since I started The Polar Route, and as of today it’s finally finished!

The book’s all about taking good pictures from the moment you grab your camera to head out until the moment you finish editing those shots on your computer. I’ve tried to write the book in the same conversational, easy to understand style that I use for my online photo guides. Much of the material has already been published on this site, but this is the first time it’s been available as a single, downloadable file – that means you can read it anywhere in the world without needing access to the internet.

The book’s divided into three sections – Artistic, Technical, and Editing. The Artistic and Technical sections are perfectly suited to photographers of all levels, and the Editing section contains some more advanced techniques.

Here’s what’s covered:

Artistic:
Why Amazing Travel Experiences Rarely Translate to Amazing Photos
Three Steps to More Interesting Pictures

Technical:
How to Capture High Quality Digital Images
How to Capture High Dynamic Range Images

Editing:
Editing Styles and Preparing Your Files
Finding Realism with HDR Editing
A Comprehensive Photoshop Guide
More Useful Photoshop Hints
HDR Photos with Moving Subjects

Download: From the Camera to the Computer
